By default, the placeholder for a Date question is "DD / MM / YYYY" or your chosen date format.

Alternatively, you can configure a "Default Answer" on the question's configuration panel to the current day or a specific day.

You can set the format in which the date is displayed by choosing your preference in the "Order of date" configuration.
