Why are some font characters not displaying correctly on my form?

By default, forms don't load additional character subsets from Google Fonts required for languages other than English. You can manually enable these character subsets by using a Custom Translation on your forms.

Here's how:

  1. Navigate to your Account Translations settings page.

  2. Select "Add Translation" at the top, or alternatively click on the pencil symbol under "Edit" next to your translation of choice. Note that if you are modifying an existing translation, skip to Step 5.

  3. Add a title for the translation in the field labeled "Translation Title".

  4. Select the language that will be used in this translation in the dropdown labeled "Translation Language".

  5. Under the field "Font subsets", select the character subsets you wish to use.

  6. Complete the translation as necessary, and then click "Create Translation" at the bottom of the page. Note that when updating an existing translation, the button will read "Update Translation" instead.

  7. Navigate back to the form editor you'd like to use the translation with, and select Theme & Appearance (upper-left hand corner) → Translations → Edit Translations.

  8. Click the "Use" button next to the translation we just updated.
