How do I use Zapier?

Zapier is an amazing integration platform that allows you to integrate and automate your forms with over 2000+ apps.

Simply sign up and sign in to Zapier, and then choose an existing Zap template. You can also create a Zap of your own to connect your forms with Zapier apps of your choice.

There are two ways you can create zaps for Paperform:

  1. You can create Zaps via Paperform by navigating to your Form Editor.
  2. Zaps can also be created directly on Zapier.

How to create a Zap for your form on Paperform

  1. Navigate to your Form Editor, and go to After Submission → Integrations & Webhooks.

  2. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the section labeled "Zapier".

  3. If you haven't yet, click the "Connect to Zapier" button to connect Paperform to your Zapier account. If you don’t have a Zapier account, follow the prompts to create one.

  4. Look on the integrations page for a pre-made Zap template for your app.

    • If there is a Zap template, click the “Use this Zap” button to kick off the Zap setup.
    • If there is not a Zap template, search for the app you would like to integrate with using the search bar top-left. You can then see if this app is available to integrate with Paperform on Zapier. Should the app appear when searching, click on it to proceed with set-up.

How to create a Zap for your form on Zapier

Version 2 (Latest)

Creating a Zapier Trigger

  1. Navigate to your Zapier account and create a new Zap.

  2. Click the "Trigger" block and find Paperform in the list of applications.

  3. Select an "Event" from the dropdown menu provided, then click "Continue". You can pick from:

    • New Form Submission
    • New Partial Form Submission
  4. Click the "Sign In" button, and a popup window will appear. You will be prompted to enter your Paperform API Key.

    To generate a new API Key for Paperform, naviagte to your account's Developer Settings.

  5. On the next page you will be prompted to select which form to connect with Zapier. Select your form using the dropdown list provided.

  6. Now, select a record to be used as a "Test".

    Note: When using the "Test trigger" button, your form will use the data from your most recent submission. If your form has not yet been submitted, ensure you do this prior to testing or the test will fail.

  7. After testing your form, you can click the "+" icon below your Zap Trigger to add an Action with a supported app.

  8. Test your integration trigger using the on-screen instructions. If successful, you'll be prompted to save your new Trigger prior to adding new Steps.

That's it! You've created a Trigger for your Zap.

Creating a Zapier Step

  1. Within your Zap, begin creating a new Step and select Paperform from the list of platforms provided.

  2. Select an Event using the dropdown list provided.

    Submissions

    • Delete Form Submission
    • Delete Form Partial Submission

  3. Click the "Sign In" button, and a popup window will appear. You will be prompted to enter your Paperform API Key.

    To generate a new API Key for Paperform, naviagte to your account's Developer Settings.

  4. On the next page, complete all required and any applicable optional fields related to your selected Event for this Step.

  5. Follow on-screen prompts to test your new Step. If successful, you can proceed to publish.

That's it! You've created a new Step for your Zap.

Version 1 (Legacy)


  1. Navigate to Zapier and click on "Connect Paperform to 4000+ apps" in the middle of the page. You'll then be prompted to log in to your Zapier account. If you don't have a Zapier account, follow the prompts to create one.

  1. To make a new Zap for your Paperform form, click to create a Zap, and choose "Paperform" as the "Trigger" app.

  2. Choose the trigger "New Form Submission".

  3. If this is your first Zap with Paperform, follow the prompts to authorize Zapier to have access to your Paperform account.

  4. Choose the form you want to integrate with and use the "Test trigger" button.

    Note: When using the "Test trigger" button, your form will use the data from your most recent submission. If your form has not yet been submitted, ensure you do this prior to testing or the test will fail.

  5. After testing your form, you can click the "+" icon below your Zap Trigger to add an Action with a supported app.

  6. From there you can choose whatever action you like that Zapier supports. Send an email, send a Slack notification, add a row to a worksheet on Google Sheets, or whatever you like. Explore Zapier for inspiration.

Once the Zap is active, you can view and edit it easily in your Form Editor under After Submission → Integrations & Webhooks → Zapier.
