How can I add GIFs to my form with GIPHY?

You can easily insert GIFs into your form using our GIPHY plugin. This article lays out the different ways you can add images from GIPHY.

Inserting a GIPHY image directly into your form

Using slash commands

  1. On a blank line in the form editor, type /giphy and select "GIPHY" from the dropdown menu.
  2. A window will appear with some suggested GIFs.
  3. Choose a GIF, or find a different one using the search bar.

Using action buttons

  1. In the form editor, select the line on the page where you want to add an image.
  2. Click the "Add picture" icon to the left.
  3. This will open the image selection window with "Your Computer" selected by default. Select "GIPHY" and choose from the suggested GIFs, or find a different one using the search bar.

Select a blank line, click the Add picture icon from the popup menu on the left.

NOTE: Once you have selected a GIF, you can access various formatting options by clicking it.

Multiple Choice Images

You can add a GIF from GIPHY to a Multiple Choice question option.

  1. Click on the "Configure" (cogwheel) icon next to the question to enter the question configuration.
  2. Toggle on "Add images to the options."
  3. Click the "CHOOSE A FILE" button that corresponds with the option you want to add an image to.
  4. This will open the image selection window with "Your Computer" selected by default. Select "GIPHY" and choose from the suggested GIFs, or find a different one using the search bar.

Toggle on "Add images to the options" and click CHOOSE A FILE for the multiple-choice option you would like to add a GIF to.

Background Image

You can use a GIF from GIPHY as the background for your form.

  1. In the form editor, go to Theme (waterdrop icon) → UI Elements → Background.
  2. Click "CHOOSE A FILE" and select "GIPHY."
  3. Choose from the suggested GIFs, or find a different one using the search bar.

Click CHOOSE A FILE under the Background Image heading.

You can apply an overlay color and set the transparency and amount of blur on your image by scrolling down to the "Overlay" section in the Background tab.

Cover Image

A cover image will appear when you share a link to your form on social media. You can use a GIF from GIPHY as your cover image.

  1. Go to Configure → Details.
  2. Click "CHOOSE A FILE" below "Cover image" and select "GIPHY."
  3. Choose from the suggested GIFs, or find a different one using the search bar.

Click CHOOSE A FILE under "Cover image" or "Icon" in the Details menu.

Icon

Users on specific pricing plans can add a GIF from GIPHY as the browser icon for your form.

  1. Go to Configure → Details.
  2. Click "CHOOSE A FILE" below "Icon" and select "GIPHY."
  3. Choose from the suggested GIFs, or find a different one using the search bar.

Dynamic Success Pages

On specific pricing plans, you can create custom success pages. You can add GIFs from GIPHY to these pages.

  1. Go to After Submission → Success Pages & Redirects, and toggle on "Dynamic Success Pages & Redirects" if it is not already on.
  2. Click the Edit pen icon next to the relevant success page, or add a new one by clicking "Add Page +."
  3. Scroll down to "Submission Screen Design" and edit the content on the screen just like you can edit content when creating a form.
  4. Click the line where you want to add an image.
  5. Click the "Add picture" icon to the left and select "GIPHY."
  6. Choose from the suggested GIFs, or find a different one using the search bar.

Custom PDFs

On specific pricing plans, you can create custom PDFs. You can add GIFs from GIPHY to these PDFs.

  1. In the PDF Content editor, select the line on the page where you want to add an image.
  2. Click the "Add picture" icon to the left.
  3. This will open the image selection window with "Your Computer" selected by default. Select "GIPHY" and choose from the suggested GIFs, or find a different one using the search bar.

Select a blank line, click the Add picture icon from the popup menu on the left.

NOTE: Once you have selected a GIF, you can access various formatting options by clicking it.

Gotchas

  • If you edit a GIF using the built-in image editor, the edited image will be saved as a PNG (a still image with no animation) instead of a GIF.
  • If you choose a GIF for your form icon, it will not be animated.
