Here are some of the most frequently asked questions we get about Paperform.

What is Paperform?

Paperform is an web platform that enables anyone to create online forms or product pages quickly, intuitively, and to brand them as they like, all without writing code. Whether you’re involved involved with organising events, sporting groups, marketing agencies, tech startups, or any other project, Paperform is your solution. Quickly and simply create customisable forms that take payments, and are easy for your customers and communities to complete on mobile or desktop.

How does it work - how do I create forms?

Paperform allows you to create forms in the same way you would a doc, by simply typing free-text directly onto the page, adding questions with logic, adding payment options, and inserting images if you wish. Our forms are part of larger page, that can be edited with custom text and images, as well as questions. Forms can be themed and formatted to your liking, and shared and integrated in various ways, including through Zapier, social media, email, and embedding.

Paperforms aren’t a cold standalone set of questions to be worked through; they can be surrounded with engaging and relevant copy and themed to match the brand of it’s creator. See a form being created in minutes here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KvHdp7YUtaI

How are you different from other form builders on the market?

We offer something quite different to other online form builders. Paperform allows users to quickly and easily create customizable forms that take payments, and are easy for their customers and communities to complete on mobile or desktop. There isn’t anything currently on the market that delivers these all these attributes in one hit… until now!

With Paperform, your users engage in a narrative about a product or service, see images of it, and then answer questions before they know it. You can create a stand alone form with copy, and/or embed your form seamlessly into the existing narrative of your website.

Here are the key differences:

  • Branding: other form builders dictate the flow and look of your forms much more than we do - they require drag and drop text or question block sections, have limited colour and font options, and even include their own logo on the form. Because of this, it's usually quite obvious to your users when your form is from one of our competitors. With our free-text style, Paperform provides you with a form that genuinely looks and feels like it's yours. The only Paperform mark you’ll see is a ‘powered by Paperform’ at the bottom of the Starter tier (not Pro or Agency!).
  • Speed and ease: creating forms is often time consuming when it doesn't have to be. Paperform is extremely fast for creating forms. Checkout the demo video on our homepage (paperform.co).
  • We offer a great end-form experience on both mobile and desktop. Current solutions don’t have a great desktop experience for published forms for many use cases. They restrict the way end-users engage with your questions, information, and products - we let you create a form that is viewed holistically on desktop, and converts well to mobile.

Where is the team based? What does that mean for support?

We are based in Sydney, Australia. This is our company HQ. We pride ourselves on exceptional support, and will always endeavour to get back to you as soon as we can. Sometimes it can take a few hours to respond if we are working on something big, or if it’s the middle of the night for us in Australia. As we grow, we will continue to prioritise support and will ensure that our customers are always #1. We strongly believe that engaging directly with users is pivotal to creating a great product, and we appreciate the time you take to contact us with bugs, feature requests, and feedback.

Why don’t you offer a free tier like some other form builders?

We give you what no-one else does for a competitive price, and a high level of support to boot. Paperform is all about allowing our customers to create their own bespoke forms and pages - to make this happen we have to work hard to incorporate functionality into Paperform that costs us more than if we were providing a generic form builder.

While we can’t currently support a permanent free tier, we do have a free trial that you should take advantage of! We’re confident that when you start using Paperform you’ll think it’s more than worth the monthly contribution!

Can I embed my form once I’ve created it?

Yes! All our tiers allow you to embed forms, whether it’s on your site, WordPress, or Squarespace, it’s easy - just follow the instructions or watch the ‘how to’ video.

Does Paperform integrate into my other apps and services?

It sure does - all of our Paperform plans come with Zapier support, so you can connect with over 750 services without writing a line of code. To find out more about Zapier, go to zapier.com.

Can I take payments on Paperform, and what provider do you use?

Yes! All our tiers allow you to add products and take payments on your forms/pages. Payment gateways are powered by Stripe (performed over an SSL - a safe and trusted company). We also support Braintree Payments (a subsidiary of Paypal that includes Paypal payments as an option), so we have you covered ;)

Can I choose to display product price & accept payments in my local currency?

We support all currencies supported by Stripe (very comprehensive!), so whatever the default currency is for your Stripe account is what will be used in your forms. Check out Stripe's info on this: https://support.stripe.com/questions/which-currencies-does-stripe-support.

Paypal payments are in our pipeline too, through their subsidiary site Braintree.

Does Paperform support multiple languages?

Languages other than English are available when formatting forms, but of course are subject to their availability in your chosen font (we include loads of font options!). Paperform’s UI is only available in English at present, but we will be bringing in custom language support in January 2017 - not long now!

Will there be more design/formatting options available?

We are planning to provide more design/formatting options in the near future, like more question types, more fonts, etc. so stay tuned for updates. To see a full public roadmap click here. If you have any specific requests, please contact us directly at support@paperform.co and let us know what you would like and why.

Will Paperform be available on mobile apps (iOS or Android)?

Paperform is a responsive platform, so there is no need for a Paperform app to exist specifically for Android or iOS. Published forms look and function great on any device, and forms can only be created and edited on desktop. Once you’ve used Paperform, if you can think of a use case for creating or editing a form on mobile, please let us know via support@paperform.co.

Is Paperform secure? Is it safe for my customers?

Your data is secure with Paperform. User submission data is only accessible by the account admin of the form, or by someone who has been given permission to edit/view the form by the admin, or by our development team. Our servers regularly apply the latest security updates, and have been set up with security as a priority.

We follow standard web practices such as always serving our forms and taking submissions over SSL to prevent any submission data being intercepted.

We are also looking into a third party security audit, so that our customers don't just have to take our word for it!

Do you offer a ‘one question at a time’ style form?

No. While you can create a series of conditional questions that you can make appear successively, we don’t offer a one question only at a time experience. Paperform is best used with engaging copy and/or holistic forms, rather than to be just a series of questions asked outside of your broader context. If you are interested in a one question at a time experience, we recommend using something like Typeform.
