Product retro: May 2025 to June 2026

At the end of our last update, we dropped a teaser: "Something new. This one is big guys."

Well, we weren't kidding.

This past year has been the most consequential in Paperform's history. Not because we shipped the most features (though we did ship a lot), but because we launched an entirely new product that changes what Paperform is. A product that, in just a matter of months, has built its own community, its own momentum, and its own place in how people automate work.

As always, before we get into the good stuff: from June 2025 to June 2026 alone you:

110,778 new forms created, 27,814,008 submissions received, 69,611 documents signed, and $95M+ generated through Paperform's forms

Every one of those numbers is a real person using Paperform to get something done. Thank you.

Here is everything that happened.

We launched Stepper

In October 2025 we launched Stepper, Paperform's own AI-native workflow automation tool. It connects your apps, automates your workflows, and runs tasks that used to require a developer. And it has a generous free plan.

Stepper, Paperform's AI-native workflow automation tool

This was a no-brainer because so many of our Paperform customers need forms to act as part of a wider flow - get the submission, notify, send email updates, send data to CRMs or sheets, and so on.

Stepper builds workflows for everything - AI-powered lead qualification, automated receipt processing, change notifications, approvals, meeting follow-ups, customer onboarding, content distribution, support ticket routing, contract management, webinar registration, sales pipeline automation, survey response analysis, and thousands of other use cases.

Stepper now has almost 400 live app integrations including Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Slack, Salesforce, HubSpot, Stripe, Shopify, Notion, Airtable, GitHub, Jira, Twilio, DocuSign, Dropbox, Mailchimp, Zoom, PayPal, Xero, and hundreds more. We shipped the majority of those integrations between October 2025 and June 2026, with recent months seeing a cadence of 100+ new apps added.

Pricing is straightforward: free forever for personal use, and Stepper Pro at $19 per month for unlimited workflow runs.

What makes Stepper different

The thing we are most proud of is not the app count. It is the architecture.

Skill Sets and MCP Tools. Stepper actions can be bundled into Skill Sets and exposed as MCP tools, which means AI agents (including Claude, GPT, and custom LLM-powered tools) can discover and call Stepper workflows directly via the Model Context Protocol. Stepper ships with a CLI (stpr) so developers can work with it from the terminal. This positions Stepper as an infrastructure layer, not just an automation tool.

Answer Piping. Data from any previous step can be piped forward with transforms applied. This sounds like a small thing, but it is what makes complex, multi-step workflows actually practical to build.

Component Libraries. Reusable workflow blocks you can build once and reuse across workflows. Teams building multiple automations will feel this immediately.

Webhook event listening. Stepper listens for events in real time rather than polling, which means your workflows fire when they should, not on a delay.

BYO Workflow. You can import existing automations directly from Zapier, Make, or n8n into Stepper. If you are already running automations elsewhere and want to bring them into Stepper, this is your on-ramp. It takes minutes.

In-app App requests. As of June 2026, you can request new app integrations directly from inside Stepper. We review and prioritise based on demand, and we move fast on them.

What else shipped for Paperform

Stepper was a big moment for us, but the Paperform form builder itself had a big year too.

AI form creation from files

In early 2026, we added the ability to create forms from uploaded documents. Upload a PDF or image, and Paperform will generate the form for you. Combined with the existing prompt-based form generation, this means you can not only get your forms digitised in minutes, but also make the changes you've been dreaming about while you're at it!

Creating a form from an uploaded file with AI

Global search (Cmd+K)

Launched in April 2026. Find any form, submission, or setting without navigating menus. If you have more than a handful of forms, this is one of those quality-of-life improvements that you use every day without thinking about it.

Form and submission restore

Added in May 2026. Accidentally deleted a form or a submission? You can now restore it in your dashboard. This is one of those features that nobody wants to need but everybody is grateful for.

Private File Storage

Rolled out in July and August 2025. Files uploaded through your forms are stored privately by default, improving security and compliance for forms handling sensitive data.

Audit Logging

New on Enterprise plans. If your team handles sensitive data, you now have a clear paper trail of who did what. Audit Logging keeps a record every time submission data is viewed, exported, or deleted — capturing who did it, which submissions were involved, and how they got to it (the UI, the API, or an export). And because the logs live separately from your submission data, the trail stays intact even after the underlying data is gone. It is the kind of thing your security and compliance folks will be very happy to hear about.

Conditional logic improvements

We continued expanding what is possible with conditional logic throughout the year, with more flexibility in how you structure form flows.

We also shipped a range of smaller improvements to integrations, account management, and performance throughout the year. The cadence of small-but-meaningful updates that has always been part of how we operate did not slow down.

A brand new paperform.co

We rebuilt paperform.co from the ground up in March 2026. The new site is faster, cleaner, and designed to actually explain Paperform's potential.

The redesigned paperform.co

In April 2026, we launched a Form Builder Comparison hub with around 160 articles covering how Paperform compares to alternatives. If you have ever tried to help someone understand why Paperform is the right choice for them, this is a resource you can point them to.

We also crossed 30,000 form templates in March 2026, and launched a redesigned templates directory in February 2026 to make them easier to find and use.

Agency+ for those managing client and brand forms

Agency+ launched in September 2025, and it is the answer to a problem we had been hearing about for years: agencies love Paperform, but managing it across a dozen clients or brands was messy.

Agency+ fixes that. You get one dashboard to manage all your client and brand accounts, full control over access and permissions, and the ability to spin up new client teams in seconds. Each client account is completely siloed, so there is no risk of one client seeing another's data, forms, or integrations. You set up the brand, hand over the keys (or not), and move on. The best bit? You can eject your clients into their own accounts when they are ready to fly on their own.

The Agency+ dashboard for managing client and brand accounts

The white-labelling goes deep. Custom app domains, custom email domains, custom form domains. You can make the entire Paperform experience look and feel like your agency or your client's brand, from the dashboard to the notification emails. If you are a productized service or a consultancy, this is what "professional" looks like.

You also get all of Paperform's AI features to deploy for clients: spin up complex forms from a prompt or a document in seconds, use AI Insights to turn submission data into a polished report, and build AI-powered calculations that go well beyond what any other form builder offers. It is not a gimmick. It is the reason agencies can charge for what used to take hours.

The results for agencies speak for themselves. Dee Shukla from Pearl Lemon told us: "We started using Paperform for all our onboarding. Now, every single client we have, we use Paperform. It's saved us over 1,000 hours and thousands annually." Chris Andrade at Pixelbricks (London) put it simply: "Paperform has seriously levelled up my workflow. It saves me time and makes our agency look good in front of clients."

Agency+ starts at $190 per month and includes 10 Pro client teams, unlimited demo teams for pitching and sandboxing, and everything scales from there.

Papersign keeps growing

Papersign, our e-signature product, had its own milestone moment: in March 2026, we launched papersign.com, giving Papersign its own dedicated website and presence for the first time.

The integration between Papersign and Stepper is live, which means you can now build automated workflows that include document signing as a step. Collect a form response, generate a document, send it for signature, and trigger a follow-up action when it is signed. That full flow is possible today.

Company news

SOC 2 Type II. In March 2026, we renewed our SOC 2 Type II certification. For those who are not familiar: SOC 2 Type II is not just a one-time audit. It certifies that our security controls have been operating effectively over a sustained period of time. This matters for enterprise customers and anyone handling sensitive data.

Annual penetration testing. In December 2025, we passed our annual penetration test. Security is not a badge you earn once. We test it continuously.

2026 G2 Best Software Award winner. We are sitting at 4.8 stars on G2, and the recognition is humbling because it didn't come from hype or promises, but from real customers sharing real experiences, and a Team that works incredibly hard. That makes this win especially meaningful to us.

Stepper community. We launched a Discord community for Stepper users. It is already active and genuinely useful for people building with the product.

What is coming next?

Stepper is now shipping over 100 new app integrations per month. The pace is not slowing down. If an app you need is not there yet, it is probably coming soon, and you can now request it directly from inside the product. We're also heads down on new features like Private Apps you can build for your Team, and boosting the effectiveness of our AI copilot.

On compliance: we currently hold SOC 2 Type II and GDPR compliances. Now we're actively looking at expanding our compliance coverage to additional frameworks (very exciting!). More details as those become official, but we're aiming to serve the European market and the US Health Care sector better.

On our product offering: Paperform, Papersign, and Stepper are three products, but they belong together. We are working toward a unified subscription that brings all three into a single account and a single plan. This is about making the whole greater than the sum of its parts, and making it simpler for you to use all of the tools we build.

And the big one: this year, Paperform turns ten.

We started in 2016 with the idea that building an online form should not require a developer, a designer, or a degree. That idea has not changed. But almost everything else is about to. We are in the final stages of what we genuinely believe is the biggest update to Paperform since we launched. We are not ready to say everything just yet, but the short version is: it is the same Paperform you know, running on hyperspeed, with the kind of flexibility to solve form flows and customisation challenges that were never possible before.

We will have more to share later this year. Stay close.

As always, thank you for being here. Whether you have been with us since 2016 or you signed up last week, everything we build is for you.
