How do you upload a photo to a form

Uploading photos is easy with Paperform. Simply add a File or Image Upload field to your form and ask your audience to upload an image or other types of files in the respective fields.

To add a File or an Image Upload field to your form:

1. Create a new question and select "File Upload" or "Image Upload" as the type. For a shortcut, type /upload into a blank line of the editor.
2. Give the field a title ("What is your question?") and add some help text optionally.
3. You can restrict file types (File Upload only) from the configure menu, allow multiple files (File or Image Upload), and manage other settings.

We support taking mobile phone photos with Image and “File Upload” fields. Mobile devices will automatically show the option to either upload or take a new photo.

You can only upload images with the “Image Upload” fields. Photo upload options JPEG, PNG, GIF, BMP, TIFF, and RAW are accepted image formats. You can also restrict the file size if you wish.

If you need to restrict this to specific file format(s) or want to offer the ability to upload file types and images, use a “File Upload” question instead.

How do I upload photos from my mobile (mobile friendliness)?

Users can directly capture and upload a picture from their mobile devices. Mobile devices will automatically show the option to either upload or take a new photo when there is a file upload or image upload field in the form.

A thumbnail is automatically shown if it's a single image (multiple images won't show a thumbnail) so respondents can check whether they have uploaded the correct photo.

How do I create a photo upload form?

To create a file upload form using Paperform, follow these steps:

1. Log in to your Paperform account: If you use our photo upload template, click the "use template" above and follow the flow. Alternatively, start from scratch from your Paperform dashboard.
2. Add a file upload field: Type ‘/’ “File upload” or “Image Upload” or click “Add question”. This will add a field where users can upload their photos or files.
3. Customise the file upload field: Click on the “File Upload” field to open its settings menu. Here, you can customise the question title, description, file format and maximum file size.
4. Incorporate other form fields: Use any of our 27+ question fields in your form. You can add form fields as needed, such as email fields, multiple-choice questions, or our “Product” field.
5. Customise the form design: Use the "Theme" tab and adjust the form to the smallest detail curating your unique colour palette, typography, layouts, and themes.
6. Set up form actions: Click on the "Actions" tab at the top of the screen to set up what should happen when the form is submitted. You can receive an email notification, set up payments, send the data to a webhook, integrate with other apps, and more. 7 Publish the online form: Once you're happy with it, click the "Publish" button to make it live. You can share the form with others by sending them the URL or embedding it on your website.
